Tony Leon is executive chairman of a South African strategic communications company. He is the founding leader of the Democratic Alliance, and longest serving leader of the official opposition in Parliament of South Africa since 1994. He served as a Member of Parliament for 20 years and played a key role in the drafting of the country’s democratic constitution. He served on appointment by the President of South Africa as Ambassador to Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. An attorney by profession, he is the author of six books, the most recent of which is “Being There. Back stories from the political front”. In June and July 2024, Tony Leon was one of the key negotiators of the Government of National Unity (GNU) in South Africa
