Qarnita Loxton was born and raised in Cape Town, where she graduated with a law degree from UCT in 1997. She worked as an attorney in the financial services industry, before studying psychology and training as a coach. She coached executives in the corporate world until a short online creative writing course led her to another, longer one – which resulted in her first novel, Being Kari. Since then, she has published another three books in the Being-series: Being Lily, Being Shelley and Being Dianne. Qarnita likes to write about people, relationships, friendship, parenting, identity, religion – all the ways in which we show up and find ourselves in the world. What’s Wrong with June? is her latest novel.
