Pippa Skotnes is an artist and scholar, educated at the University of Cape Town where she received her Masters and Doctoral degrees. She was founding director of the Centre for Curating the Archive where she is a research professor and the General Editor of !khwe-ta ǃxōë: the Digital Bleek and Lloyd. She has exhibited art and curatorial work widely and published several books on 19th century archives of hunter gatherer history and intellectual traditions. When The World Was is her first children’s book.
