José Manuel de Prada-Samper is a folklore expert and research associate at the University of Cape Town’s Department of Archaeology. He is the author of Fading Footprints: In Search of South Africa’s First People, The Man Who Cursed the Wind, Adam and the Water Maiden, and co-author of On the Trail of Qing and Orpen. His work explores indigenous oral traditions and colonial-era narratives. De Prada-Samper lives in Barcelona and regularly collaborates with South African scholars.
