Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen is a South African-born chef, restaurateur, author and storyteller, recognised as South Africa’s first Michelin-starred chef. He is best known for his celebrated restaurants, including JAN Franschhoek, Restaurant JAN and Le Bistrot de JAN in Nice, and the newly opened Le Bistrot de JAN Cape Town. Alongside his culinary work, he has published sixteen volumes of JAN the Journal and authored several cookbooks. His latest release, the JAN Voyage Cookbook, features over 100 recipes inspired by the iconic JAN Voyage experience through Italy and France, reflecting his passion for travel, culture and cooking with heart.
