Claudia Esnouf has a Latin American and South African background. She grew up bilingual in Chile and Brazil before moving to Scotland to study. Her writing career began in Edinburgh, and she has written articles for various magazines and newspapers in Scotland. In one year, she embarked on a long-distance walking journey through the Caucasus, Nepal, India and Europe, walking over 1,800 kilometres. These trails included The Transcaucasian Trail, The Annapurna Circuit, The Camino de Santiago and The Portuguese Way. During this journey she faced a rampant water buffalo, freezing glacier crossings and a night camping in a minefield.
Her first book, Walk Like a Girl, is a travel memoir which was published by Sparsile Books in April 2025.
