Bridget Impey

Jacana Media’s Publishing Director, Bridget Impey, is a highly experienced publishing professional with a career spanning over four decades in South Africa. Since 1982, she has held managerial positions at prominent publishing houses, including David Philip Publishers and Juta & Co. Beyond industry leadership, Bridget has actively contributed to the development of publishing talent through workshops conducted in South Africa, Ghana and Jamaica. She lectured in Publishing Studies at Wits University from 2009 to 2018. She is a board member of the Jacana Literary Foundation and has steered many of the Foundation’s initiatives, including From Pitch to Publication, the Dinaane Debut Fiction Award, The Gerald Kraak Anthology and Prize, The Sol Plaatje European Union Poetry Award and various writers’ training workshops.
