Anjali Singh is a literary agent in New York City where she founded her own Harlem-based agency in 2024. In her 30 years in publishing, she has worn many hats: working as an international literary scout advising international publishers on US and Canadian acquisitions and as an acquiring editor at Penguin Random House (where she acquired books by Marjane Satrapi and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie), Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Simon + Schuster and as Editorial Director of Other Press. Her current literary fiction list includes the authors C.A. Davids, Susan Abulhawa, Mai al-Nakib, Mihret Sabhat, Saleem Haddad, Padma Viswanathan, Mohammed Massoud Morsi, Candace Allen and Nawaaz Ahmed. She is particularly drawn to international stories that have something to say about our challenging times, and finds joy in helping to relaunch writers mid-career. She focuses on literary fiction, memoir, and narrative nonfiction, as well as graphic novels for all ages.
