Anna Hartford is a writer and philosopher based in Cape Town. Her essays and short fiction have been published in The Paris Review Daily, N+1, The Yale Review and Kenyon Review, among others, and appeared in several edited collections including Our Ghosts Were Once People and The Interpreters. She is a senior lecturer in the Philosophy Department at Stellenbosch University, where she directs the Unit for Social and Political Ethics.
