Pieter-Dirk Uys

Pieter-Dirk Uys is a South African performer, author, satirist, and social activist. One of his best-known roles is as Evita Bezuidenhout, who is still regarded as the most famous white woman in South Africa. Uys has written plays, revues, novels, memoirs and cookbooks. His celebration of free speech in 2024 is the third volume in his ‘One Man Shows’ series – The Mbeki HIV Renaissance (2000-2009)‘, which launches at the Franschhoek Literary Festival and will be freely available on his website along with volumes one and two.
