Nondwe Mpuma

Nondwe Mpuma was born in the small town of eMaxesibeni in the Eastern Cape. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of the Western Cape and is currently a lecturer at the same institution. She is the winner of the 2017 Patricia Schonstein Poetry in McGregor Award and has been published widely in South Africa and abroad. Her debut collection Peach Country was named as one of Brittle Paper’s ‘Notable African books of 2022’ and Griot Global’s ‘100 Notable African Books of 2022’. She is one of the hosts of The Red Wheelbarrow Society based in Cape Town.
