Angela Makholwa

Angela Makholwa lives and works in Johannesburg. The Reed Dance Stalker is her highly anticipated sequel to her debut novel, Red Ink, first published in 2007. This was followed by The 30th Candle (2009), which described the entertaining escapades and sexual misadventures of modern women searching for happiness and hoping for love. Her third novel, Black Widow Society (2013), marked a return to a thrilling, crime-ridden world. Then came the bestsellers: The Blessed Girl (2017) and Critical But, Stable (2020, and the punctuation is meant to be that way…), both characterised by Makholwa’s trademark dark humour and astute social commentary.
