Damon Galgut

Damon Galgut is the winner of the 2021 Booker Prize for his ninth novel, The Promise. His first book, A Sinless Season, was published while still at school. Since then, Damon’s work has been published in sixteen languages. Two of his previous novels was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and he is a past winner of the Commonwealth Writers Prize. In 2015, An Arctic Summer was awarded the Sunday Times Fiction Prize. Two films were made of his book The Quarry. He lives and works in Cape Town.
