JOHN VAN DE RUIT
John van de Ruit was born in Durban in 1975. He was educated at Michaelhouse
and the University of Natal where he completed a Masters degree in Drama
and Performance. Since 1998 he has been a professional actor, playwright and producer.
His own plays include War Cry and Crooked, although he is best known
for his collaboration with Ben Voss on the hit satirical sketch show, Green Mamba.
He received an FNB VITA award for Best Original South African Script(2000). His first novel,
Spud, won the 2006 Booksellers' Choice Award.
Spud - The Madness Continues... will be launched into the booktrade on the 20 April 2007.
